– an Italian reibute to the 60th anniversary of the Cultural Agreement between India a d Japan –

 

GANDHARA is a Traditional Indian Live Music Project uniting two great musicians – Sitar Player from India Ustad Rafique Khan and Famous Italian Tabla Percussionist Pepè Fiore!

Giuseppe “Pepè” Fiore, born in Barletta (Puglia), has studied tabla for over 33 years, 10 of which he has spent in India. He received several prestigious titles such as of Tal Many and the first place at the music competition organized by Sur Singar Sansad of Mumbai in the tabla solo section. Fiore currently works with the greatest Indian classic and jazz Musicians.

Ustad Rafique Khan is an Indian sitar player and composer. He has won the prestigious “Sur Mani Award” from Sur Singar Samsad and has since been playing shows in India and abroad.

The Project is organized and supported by Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Consulate General of India, Italian Institute of Culture and Musa International. This project has been named Gandhara, after the ancient Indian region that was an early meeting point of Eastern and Western cultures.
